In May 2008 we (Jane and her friends Helen and Nicola) stayed in a lovely cottage just outside Hawkshead in the southern Lake District. The weather was fantastic and we did several great walks and visited Levens Hall - home of extremely wacky topiary. The haze in some photos is heat haze - honest!
